Okay it looks like AT&T has launched their new feature media share and it’s about time. Now I’m not positive if it has been fully released in all markets but I know their are several that now have the feature and have had it for some time now, including me. I decided that it was about time to put up some screen shots and open some discussion about the feature. First, to those that are not familiar with media share it allows you to share your music and pictures from your PC to your TV via streaming through Windows Media Player 11 or greater. Although the feature doesn’t allow video sharing yet, I sure hope they add the feature soon. Also, I have had some troubles getting it to work with my firewall but hopefully we can get those issues work out.

Here are the screens.

Okay, I’m not positive if this has happened in all markets but I assume not. However, good news to all because if you haven’t received the new Uverse updates, I would but only assume it’s coming soon to your area. I was watching TV late Friday night when all of a sudden I noticed the U-verse guide had a much more cleaner look to it. I knew at this point an updated had pushed through and could only hope my wishes had come true for the long waited DVR updates. Since, I was watching TV in my bedroom I could immediately test the functionality of the whole room DVR and to my amazement I could record, schedule, erase, edit and make any changes to my DVR settings from my non-DVR STB’s. However, I did try pause, rewind, and etc and none of those features will function on the non DVR, nor did I really expect them to since there is no hard drive.

I’m pretty ecstatic right now, and wish I could get some clean shots with my camera but I can’t seem to get the settings down right to get some clear pictures of the screen. So, if anyone else has a camera that can take quality pictures of the new Uverse Guide and DVR functionality please share them! After I realized the DVR functionality and new guide I decided to see what else I could find that was new, so I started googling around. I found this press release from AT&T which promises the new updates as described, a promised speed increased for U-verse max customers, new on demand top picks, updated navigation guide (which I described early), free Starz for the month of July, and an updated Web Remote Access GUI. It seems AT&T was listening to it’s customers and has made a good push to deliver the features the users have been requesting.

First let’s start with the new guide, which I can already notice a big difference. It just seems more stable and responsive which is great. Also, there are enhanced color schemes, nothing major but you can definitely tell the difference, it feels more welcoming with the new shades of blue they used.

Second, the web remote access has updated for me and it looks really good and acts stable. I’m not sure when the web remote access updated because I rarely used it but it’s definitely changed since last time I logged in. I was able to grab a clear screen shot, so check it out for yourself below. Can’t wait for the discussion to start update tomorrow!

P.S. I’m writing this post pretty late at night, I will try to update anything else I find as we go along.

Honestly I have to say I did watch the Super Bowl in HD with Uverse pretty well. Well, heck how can I say well, that was a fantastic game! WOW one of the best Super Bowls I have ever seen. Where Kurt Warner played heroic and Larry Fitzgerald caught passes out of the sky like they were secret football diamonds granting him into the football heavens and above, okay that was corny but hey they guy is a great player. But, it just wasn’t enough against the steel city and you can’t blame them either, they straight played just a little harder and Santino Holmes was on fire. I think both teams played with great passion. I really thought the game was over when Arizona scored with the fade to fittzy on right corner of the end-zone putting them up 23-20. And that boy gotz some superstar hands and yes I will say it right now, best hands in the league and if not ever. Of course he has a lot of his career to go but you just don’t make ridiculous catches like that over and over before you start to get some recognition. But, here the fans are the sadist part in this entire game, it’s not the winners or the losersm it’s how it ended. Twice I thought to myself what a beautiful way to end a game, you deserve it cards…No you deserve it Kurt (Heartbreaker – I could catch passes tonight from this guy all night if it would warm his soul just a little bit). Then with a little time left on the game clock here come the truckin Steely offense lead by Big Ben and the O-line, with the on fire of Holmes driving to a game winning touchdown (TD) with less than 35 seconds to go!! Ben drops back and trows a beautifully pass, so clean that my mother could have caught and then a fantastic catch by homles to in the corner of the end zone with concentratration to keep both feet inbounds!!! Just Awesome!! If you’re a stealer fan then you’re thinking this game just might be won, we might have our second Super Bowl, or well 6th and also preventing Arizona from winning their only Super Bowl appearance ever, by shutting down HOF quarterback Kurt Warner. Oh Ya I said it, Kurt will be in the Hall of Fall and I don’t care what anybody else says. If he doesn’t I will complete watching football because he’s great player and and person on and off the and field deserves everything he has ever achieved in life. With that being set I wish Kurt, Brenda, and all of his wonder family, team mates, and organization the best. Remember you played hard and that’s something to be proud about. We will see you around next year.

Okay without further ado THE STEELERS ARE THE SUPERBOWL WINNERS AND HOLD THE RECORD FOR MOST SUPER BOWLS EVER (6)!!! Many shoot outs including Holmes, Big Bin, O-Line, D-line, all the star-studded Defense, coaching , and the FANS.

Congratulations!

Provider Hold Up?
Okay know down to the really big question, how did your TV provider hold up? Did you watch a great game in HD, did you watch parts of games as it fizzled out, did you not watch any of it because you couldn’t get the station to come in. Well, we want to talk about it and put the meter on the TV providers that are giving us these “great” services. Go to the link below and make your comment in the appropriate forum.

If you’re still biting nails your nails just make more commits in the discussion forum. And we hope to have it flaying high with opinions soon because well that last play was a bit controversy. I mean did Kurt Warner really fumble or did the referees? I guess we will never know.

As many U-verse subscribers have been waiting since the launch of AT&T Uverse is for the launch of the multi-room DVR. Well, I’m in the DFW area here in Texas and I can tell you I have it today and without warning. This morning my wife calls me from work telling me one of the STB’s is not working, the main one, the DVR. So instruct her to reset the box and go through the standard trouble shooting steps. It comes back online and everything is normal. After a few hours at work I start thinking about news I have heard about the Whole room DVR being released in certain areas and wonder if it was released in DFW and I just a firmware upgrade.

Well folks,

When I got home I checked it out and sure enough I can view all my recordings on my DVR from any room in the house. I can even pause in one room and resume in another. It’s lovely!

Anyway,

Just wanted to give an update and get the discussion forum started. I will post some screen shots later this week.

U-verse Releases Online Photos through Flickr

On April 2, 2008 AT&T released it’s latest feature to their IPTV offering Online Photos through Flickr. AT&T U-verse is currently the only provider to offer an online feature which allows you to share your online photos through your TV set.

This is truly a great addition the AT&T bundled package but I doubt it will be a deal breaker. However, I can’t say I don’t like the idea because I don’t know how many times I have wanted to show pictures on my television but didn’t feel like burning a slide show on DVD. Now, I’m able to easily upload my pictures to my Flickr account (which is free) and view them straight from my TV.

Nice Feature!

Keep’em coming!
